VK7VH SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH We danced the bands, listened to boom crash opera on 80m deprived ourselves of sleep and now we look like zombies. Why do we do it, because it is a great contest. Thank you to the contest manager for your hard work. I hope to see everyone again next year. In closing, what a hoot.
VK7FB SINGLE-OP MIXED HIGH HF very noisy so not many contacts there.

VK2PN SINGLE-OP CW HIGH Conditions quite poor. Hard going due to QRN. Some contesters could do with training beforehand.
VK3BMT SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH A GOOD TIME WAS HAD, ALTHOUGH THE STATIC CRASHING WAS CHALLENGING AT TIMES.
VK7EE SINGLE-OP CW LOW Paper log received and converted by the Manager

VK2LEE SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Lightning crashes on Saturday night on 80m were over S9 making most contacts very difficult if not impossible. Conditions on 40m on Sunday - I could hear stations working Stations who had the frequency but couldn't hear who they were working!!!V Poor conditions from My location.
VK2IG SINGLE-OP CW HIGH Had only Saturday night available for contesting, so came up to give out some numbers. 80m QRN worsened as the night went on. Station: TS-480HX @ 120 W output, 80m OCF dipole. Thanks for running the contest - fun as always, and see you all next year!

VK5UV SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH LOTS OF QRN. HAD A VERY IRATE, ANGRY JAMMER FOR 10-15 MINUTES ON 40M SATURDAY EVENING. LOTS OF FOUR LETTER EXPLETIVES AND ABUSE. HE QUESTIONNED IF I "NEW THE WAR WAS OVER"..WHY WAS I DOING CONTEST- HINTED THAT KOREAN OR VIETNEM WAS THE REAL WAR. THEY WERE THE "HEROES". I MOVED TO ANOTHER BAND. VK5SFA SINGLE-OP MIXED HIGH 160 metres & 80 metres on a 3 metre diameter,2 turn Magnetic Loop!
VK7KPC SINGLE-OP SSB QRP Good contest thanks
VK7TW SINGLE-OP SSB LOW Thanks Alan, very much appreciate the effort put into the RD Contest.
VK3HN SINGLE-OP MIXED QRP Thanks for administering the 2018 RD Contest. I took the opportunity to try out my homebrew QRP (5 watts SSB/CW) rig under crowded band conditions on 80 and 40, with good results. Having triple points 0100-0600 local Sunday morning really made the early hours busy with stations, I kept working new calls until 2:30am and would do this again. Please preserve this night owl bonus. I also liked exchanging 'cumulative years of license holding' rather than serial numbers. I had to include CATEGORY-TRANSMITTER: tag in order to submit this log. This is an error as this tag only applies to multi-op stations.
VK2ATZ MULTI-OP SSB LOW 3 submitted logs joined by manager and uploaded.
VK3ZPF SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Only able to work 1 hour of contest. Lots of static crashes on 80m Logged using VK port-a-log - contest version
VK2EL SINGLE-OP CW LOW Operated from retirement village balcony, using mag loop antennas.
VK3DY SINGLE-OP SSB LOW CONVERTED FROM PAPER LOG BY MANAGER
VK3ER MULTI-OP SSB HIGH Had to enter 2m and 70cm contacts manuely as system could not change to 2m and 70cm.
VK7JU SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH First 22 contacts I mistakenly gave out sequential report. OOps.
VK7KDV SINGLE-OP SSB LOW ENJOYED THE CONTEST
VK5LG SINGLE-OP SSB LOW PAPER LOG SENT AND CONVERTED BY MANAGER No space on 7125 for AM Crystal locked equipment. Could have done a lot more but for LSB stns on 7125 and 7130. For an RD contest it would be good if stns were aware of AM as it is the only frequency war time AM gear can be used because of crystals. Collins T47 (US Navy WW2) 80W DP.
VK1DA SINGLE-OP MIXED HIGH This log is from a SOTA activation I was doing at the time of the contest. I was using an FT817 and a 40w amp, powered by LiFePO4 battery. The summit was Pheasant Hill, about 1km north of the southern border of the ACT and at about 1440m ASL and ambient temperature around 3 or 4 C. email: [email protected]

VK7KWB SINGLE-OP SSB LOW PAPER LOG SENT AND CONVERTED BY MANAGER
VK2IO SINGLE-OP MIXED QRP Operated portable at Dharug National Park VKFF-0139 (QF56MO). Rig was a KX3 running 5 Watts. Two antennas were used: a double-sized ZS6BKW 9m high and regular ZS6BKW 9m high. VK port-a-log CONTEST was used for logging on my Android phone. Strong QRN throughout the contest reduced the QSO rate however the weather was fine and sunny so another enjoyable RD from the field. Photos here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/bYjV5DmdogQbGxwB9
VK1DW SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Considerable static and noise plus poor propagatgion. VK6 not heard on any band.
VK3MB SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Thanks for running a great contest Thankyou to VK3AVV for creating VKCL4 logging software
VK5LJ SINGLE-OP MIXED LOW Lots of 20 over 9 static crashes made the contest challenging. A few more Ops would help fill in the quiet times but otherwise a good contest.
VK7JGD SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Thanks to all involved in putting on another great RD Contest Plenty of statio Antennas HF 10m 15m 20m triband 3el beam 80/40m dipole east west 40/20m dip 2m/70cm x300 vertical 70cm 7el yagi 6m halfwave vertical TXs ICOM 7300 YAESU FT 897D Thanks to all on the air Garry VK7JGD
VK7HDM SINGLE-OP MIXED HIGH log re-done to add missing G after 1.2
VK6CSW SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Thanks for yet another great RD contest, Alan, but I thought that the number of participants in WA was rather lower than in previous years. Notwithstanding, I had lots of fun and enjoyed every minute.
VK2SS/P SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Woke up to snow on Sunday morning !
VK2AZ SINGLE-OP MIXED HIGH What a struggle. Hi static during the evening and night. Weird conditions on 40m on Sunday. Signals just on or below the noise level. Very few people to work from the 4 to 6am period.
VK2MT SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Operated portable 12v/solar power 15klms nth of Grenfell central NSW. Strong winds required 8 guy ropes & a shorter height on squid pole. Wind, rain & sleet with 0 degree temps. Wind chill was -5 at 2.30am. But all the above was fine compared to the huge & lengthy static crashes we all endured from Saturday PM to Sunday AM. Overnight contacts were less probably because of this noise level. Great Contest & thank-you to the organisers for your efforts.
VK2MG SINGLE-OP SSB QRP The static really hurt as a QRP station. Operated portable from Mount Bouddi in Bouddi Natgional Park - VKFF-0049
VK7LG SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Notes attached

VK5FBAA SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH First time using HF RD competition, I think I have made some mistakes
VK2QN SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH My first RD Contest. 80m and 40m bands were relatively noise free. I will try to participate in the contest again next year.
VK7FJAM SINGLE-OP SSB LOW Very enjoyable contest and my first experience on HF with the use of an end-fed random wire and a 9:1 unun I constructed during the contest.
VK7TU SINGLE-OP SSB LOW CONVERTED FROM PAPER LOG BY MANAGER
VK6FLTC SINGLE-OP SSB LOW My first RD contest. Converted to VKLC from paper copy. I trust all is in order and there are few mistakes. Will be on the ball next year.Tks
VK3NCC SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Didn't have a litle of time available, so just a few contacts only. Well worth the time, very friendly contacts. Will try and organise time better next year. Cheers to all.
